Shoutout to snapchat for helping me take these blog selfies!
The 12:30 lunch break seemed like an eternity when you're cycling for more than 40km. We came starving and left very satisfied as we were pleasantly by the amount of food provided. The food was excellent and the carbs were helpful in our calorie-burning journey. The food was traditional Taiwanese, but what I noticed is that people around here are crazy with shrimp. Like every dish, bowl, cup, water-dispenser, and aquarium has at least 10 of these crustaceans.
Cycled to the GIANT HQ and it turns out, from a foreigner's perspective, that GIANT is a pretty gigantic company in Taiwan (pun intended). We got our certificate photos taken here assuming we complete the the full cycling challenge, which instantly raises the stakes by 900%. Riwa seems particurarilly excited about this deal.
So after cycling for more than 99km, we have finally ended the day's hustle. The last 20km are both literate and metaphorical pains in the butt. We were all very [prematurely] proud of our efforts and decided to celebrate by pointing at the map that I can't read (shown above). I honestly have no idea what I'm supposed to point at so I just posed casually hoping no one will ask me what I'm doing.
A little gathering with our friends from the EIP 2015 (English Immersion Program) for a fancy and extremely filing dinner. Thank you so much for treating us with the wonderful "christmasy" meal, folks! Our appreciation for you guys extends far beyond the emotional spectrum and into areas associated with the horizontal expansion of our hips.
